How to change or remove “Howdy” text on WordPress admin bar?

WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platform and content management system in world. And the best thing about it is that you can customize almost every single bit of text that appears on the screen.

In this tutorial, I am going to show you, how you can change the howdy text that appears on the WordPress admin bar or toolbar. To change the text, paste the following code in your functions.php file.

add_filter('admin_bar_menu','change_howdy_text_toolbar');
function change_howdy_text_toolbar($wp_admin_bar)
{
	$getgreetings = $wp_admin_bar->get_node('my-account');
	$rpctitle = str_replace('Howdy','Namaste',$getgreetings->title);
	$wp_admin_bar->add_node(array("id"=>"my-account","title"=>$rpctitle));
}

Don’t forget to replace ‘Namaste’ with the message you want to display.
